Play Therapy

Welcome to Nurture Nest Play Therapy and Counseling, where we provide a safe and supportive space for children to explore their emotions and experiences through Play Therapy.

Our experienced therapists specialize in Play Therapy, a form of psychotherapy that allows children to express themselves through play, their natural language. Play Therapy has been proven to be an effective way to help children cope with a wide range of issues, such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and behavioral challenges.

At Nurture Nest Counseling, we believe that every child is unique and deserving of individualized care. That's why we take a client-centered approach to therapy, tailoring each session to meet the specific needs and goals of your child.

Our Play Therapy sessions are conducted in a specially designed playroom, filled with a variety of toys, games, and art supplies that encourage imaginative play and self-expression. Our therapists work closely with your child, using their natural play activities as a means to communicate, explore emotions, and work through challenges.

We understand that seeking therapy for your child can be a difficult decision, but our goal is to provide a supportive and welcoming environment where your child can feel comfortable and safe to express themselves.

Our therapists are trained and licensed professionals, with extensive experience in Play Therapy and child psychology. We are committed to helping your child achieve their full potential and providing you with the tools and support you need to help them along the way.

Play Therapy can enhance and strengthen a variety of skill sets including:

•Anger Management

•Anxiety

•Attachment

•Cognitive Restructuring/Positive Self-Talk

•Emotional Regulation

•Positive Social Skills

•Pro-Social Skills

•Stress Management

•Trauma Exploration

Using verbal processing as a means of exploring underlying issues related to anger, anxiety, trauma, etc can leave the child feeling frustrated and “stuck.” Play Therapy combines kinesthetic involvement with their story and allows them to integrate the thoughts, feelings, and somatic reactions with their verbal narrative. This allows them to remove intense emotional reactions to the events or triggers so that it can become a natural part of their history without feeling overwhelming and even scary when it is remembered.
